Please hold….

As I sit here listening to something “a little jazzy” and waiting for the next available representative, I started thinking about prayer. Something that is amazing and true is that God NEVER puts us on hold. He picks up the call and listens to what we need to say, and replies in His good and perfect time.

God never needs to go get a manager, you never need to talk to His supervisor, and He certainly doesn’t ignore our repeated requests. I probably sound a little frustrated, but I’ve been dealing with this particular issue for a few years now and am hoping to resolve it soon. What have I learned from all of this? Hmmm….

Create a trust. Write a will. It’s all just stuff, but someone has to dot the I’s and cross the T’s, so make it easy for them to do so.

What have I REALLY learned, though? Time is fleeting. Spend the time you can with your family, because someday you won’t be able to anymore. As I sit here, holding, I am grateful that my mom is able to come for a visit and do things we wouldn’t be able to do otherwise. We get to go have breakfast ( I haven’t told her I want to take her to breakfast because I’m, you know, on hold….) and then maybe go spend some time with the kids so she can snuggle her great-grands.

Okay, so I would love to say that I was able to finish this in a timely manner and get it published, but the truth is that I wrote the first half a couple days ago. Today, I got to take Mom to church and then lunch with friends afterward. As I suspected, everyone there just loved her and loved ON her, and she just felt so at home. What a blessing this congregation of believers is!

The call I was on hold for? Well, I’m still waiting for a substantive response. Is there anything in your life right now that you are waiting for an answer about? How often do you feel like you’re “on hold” because somebody else has to go through their own process before it’s your turn? What blessing were you able to recognize in the process?

Thank you for your response. ✨

My prayer for you today is that you will be able to see and recognize the blessings that are there for you while you are “on hold” for whatever it is that you have been waiting for.
